The release notes timeline highlights major features, bug fixes, and improvements implemented in Hyperstack.


December 17, 2024

New Hyperstack features:

  • Custom Images: A custom image enables you to create and manage a custom operating system image from an existing snapshot. These images are private to you and can be used to deploy virtual machines (VMs).

Improvements:

  • Various UI improvements for the "dark mode".

New Hyperstack features:

  • New Region Preview: Preliminary support for a new Hyperstack region that introduces Flavor Labels to better manage VM capabilities and resource allocation.

Improvements:

  • Snapshots can now be deleted when in "ERROR" state.

New Hyperstack features:

  • Snapshots: The virtual machine snapshot feature has been added, enabling you to capture the current state of a virtual machine (VM) by saving its data to disk for future restoration.

Improvements:

  • Kubernetes stability has improved. While still in the beta phase, users can now create larger clusters with greater reliability.

  • Adding VMs to Contract: Virtual machines (VMs) can now be added directly to your contract. Resource activity and contract pages now include all contract details, including expiration dates, total GPU counts, pricing, and usage.

New Hyperstack features:

  • Usage Cost Summary: A new summary section has been added to the Billing Overview tab, providing an overview of usage costs for the current month, including virtual machines, volumes, and other resources.

    • The new View Details button allows users to navigate directly to the Resource Activity tab for more in-depth information.
  • Resource Activity Tab: A new Resource Activity tab in the Billing section now offers graphical representations of usage costs over time.

    • Users can adjust the date range to view costs over a specified period. Visual data is available for all resources combined, as well as individually for virtual machines and volumes.
    • Costs for virtual machines are presented by sub-resources: GPU, CPU, RAM, root disk, ephemeral storage, and Public IP address.

  • The per-hour running cost for virtual machines is now displayed on the VM details overview page, simplifying expense tracking for individual resources.
  • Users can now manage their email notifications for low credit balance warnings. To learn more, click here.
  • The phone number field within billing information now includes a country code selection, making it easier to enter billing details accurately.

Improvements:

  • Billing accuracy has been enhanced through the implementation of pricing calculation algorithms that more precisely track changes in resource status.
  • Hyperstack now accurately reflects the status of canceled or initiated payments, enhancing transaction management.
  • The appearance of Hyperstack emails have been updated for consistency.

  • Streamlined the 'Deploy a new Virtual Machine page' with the following improvements:
    • The GPU name is now displayed instead of the flavor name for clarity.
    • Configuration details are now collapsed by default for each flavor to simplify UI.
    • Improved environment selection to now indicate which environments are compatible with the selected GPU flavor.
    • Added toggle to choose between bash script or YAML format for cloud-init configurations.
  • Added the ability to create and manage multiple API keys.
  • View the date and time of resource creation in the 'Billing' section under the 'Resources' tab.
  • Added separate tabs for 'Current Resources' and 'Historical Resources' in the 'Billing' section under 'Resources', making it easy to differentiate between current and past resource usage cost information.
  • Added pagination and filtering options to pages that display lists of resources in Hyperstack. Including, 'My Virtual Machines', 'Environments', 'Firewalls', 'Volumes', and 'Key Pairs'.
  • Added descriptions for our APIs in our API documentation to make it easier to understand and use them effectively.
  • Added live-chat support accessible through our new Hyperbot located in the bottom right corner of the Hyperstack platform.

  • Postpaid plan users can now add credit to their accounts to reduce their outstanding balance and avoid reaching their monthly credit usage limit. This can be done in Hyperstack by purchasing credits.

New features:

  • Customer contracts are now accessible in Hyperstack via the Billing page under the Contracts tab. For more information about contracts, please click here.
  • Virtual machines utilizing the specified GPU model in a contract will now feature an icon denoting their active contract status. This indicator is visible on the My Virtual Machines page, as well as on both the individual VM details and Contract Details pages.
  • When a virtual machine under contract is hibernated, additional information is displayed in a popup.
  • NVIDIA Inception Program customers will now be greeted with a welcome popup message upon logging in, notifying them that a 20% discount will be automatically applied to all resources within their organization.

New features:

  • Labels can now be added to virtual machines either at the time of deployment using the "Labels" option in Hyperstack, or by including the labels field in the body of your Infrahub API request to create a virtual machine.
  • Existing virtual machine labels can be edited in Hyperstack on the VM details page or using the update virtual machine labels Infrahub API.
  • The VM details page has been enhanced with separate sections for all information relating to a VM. These sections include an overview of its details, networking, firewall settings, volumes, callbacks, and labels.
  • Hyperstack now distinguishes between contracted VMs and on-demand VMs with a badge on the VM details page.

New features:

  • Hyperstack now supports the use of custom operating system images, allowing users to launch VMs with their preferred OS. For inquiries about using custom images, please contact us at [email protected].
  • Hyperstack now provides Ubuntu images pre-installed with NexGen-supported NVIDIA drivers and CUDA toolkit, streamlining the deployment process for virtual machines.
  • Users will now receive an email notification for successful payments.
  • Email notifications will now be sent to users upon successful completion of virtual machine hibernation or restoration operations.
  • The public IP addresses for VMs can now be conveniently accessed from the My Virtual Machines page within Hyperstack.
  • Users will now be able to update their billing information on the My Account page within Hyperstack.
  • Environments now feature dedicated networks, allowing VMs in each environment to operate on separate networks. This enhances security, resource management, performance, and more.
